Christmas

We had a Merry Christmas with family, but I sure missed spending Christmas Eve with my dad! While the pain of not having him here will never subside, I'm glad the rest of the family could get together to reminisce about Him and create new memories together.  Get ready for a big photo dump!

Grandma Melanie made ALL of those stockings! SO impressive.

After a fun evening at my in-laws, we came home and each kid opened a box with some PJ's and a Christmas book, and we drank hot chocolate and watched a Christmas movie--Home Alone! Such a classic.

 Finally asleep, awaiting Christmas morning!
And after what seemed like the longest night of history, Christmas morning came!

Grandma Jill came to the rescue and granted his Santa wish--he got a pogo stick!
She really is the best.

And to finish off the Christmas festivities, we had a Christmas dinner with extended family a few days later:

I can't wait for it to be Christmas again!

Santa?!

When you're a kid, heck when your an adult too, it's hard to beat Santa and Disneyland.  So when the two collide, it's your lucky day!

We went to celebrate the Christmas season with a trip to our favorite place.  Who knew that Santa relocated from the North Pole to Anaheim? I bet it's the weather.  It is unbeatable.

He told Santa he wanted a pogo stick, and of course he's been a good boy!

This girl is CRAZY about Mickey and Minnie Mouse and Disneyland.
Her favorite ride is the carousel!
Disneyland truly is the most magical place on earth!

Happy Thanksgiving!

For Thanksgiving this year we decided to go on a little getaway to San Diego with my mom and sister.  It's hard to beat celebrating what you're thankful for with your feet in the sand!

Ruslana truly is the best bigger sister ever.
She loves them so much and has so much patience!
She would make a great Kindergarten teacher.

Despite Marigold dressing for the occasion, we skipped the traditional Thanksgiving meal and had hot dogs and smores for our Thanksgiving feast!

We rented a boat which was a ton of fun:

Marigold was clearly thrilled with the ride.
We also had dinner at one of our favorite restaurants, Roy's:

When we got home we were able to wish our darling nephew Luke a happy 1st birthday, whose birthday was on Thanksgiving day!

This year I am especially thankful for spending time with family and creating special memories together.
